Hexagon at GATUA

On September 21, Hexagon’s Agriculture division will give a talk at the 14th GATUA Congress 2018 in Ribeirão Preto to show IT experts in the sugarcane sector how its solutions are transforming the results of corporate farms. The event takes place at the JP Hotel and is organised by the Technology Group of the Sugar, Ethanol and Energy Plants.

"Our solutions integrate all stages of sugarcane farming, from planting to harvesting and transport logistics to the mills. We use the most advanced technology, such as artificial intelligence, internet of things and data mining with the objective of ensuring greater productivity and profitability," said Bernardo de Castro, president of Hexagon’s Agriculture division.

GATUA participants will also have the opportunity to learn about Hexagon's onboard controllers. This equipment combines functions like fertilisation control, spray control and monitoring. In practice, onboard controllers promote automation and remote management of the planted area, becoming an important agent of artificial intelligence in the field. They use sensors to measure variables, transmit to servers in the cloud, and analyse data using machine learning techniques.

Hexagon will also demonstrate the HxGN AgrOn Control Room solution at the event, a system that receives data from production sites in real time. The goal is to monitor all operations in order to ensure that the planning is carried out, thereby avoiding lost productivity. The system continuously provides reports and maps, and if any failure occurs with any monitored equipment or machine, an alert is sent out so that the operator can make a decision in real time.
