Hexagon brings technological highlights to the Spanish agricultural machinery fair – FIMA

17 January 2020

Florianópolis, Brazil (January 17, 2020) — Hexagon’s Agriculture division will be present at Feira Internacional de Maquinários Agrícolas (FIMA), which will be held in Zaragoza, Spain, from 25 to 29 of February and will feature over 1,500 exhibitors from around the world. The fair focuses on the pillars of innovation and technology for agriculture.

“We are always excited to participate in FIMA, as it is an opportunity for us to share our goal of accelerating innovation in the agricultural sector”, said Bernardo de Castro, President of Hexagon's Agricultural division. “For us, this exchange of experiences is a way to add value to of the evolving agriculture business.”

Hexagon's Agricultural division offers technologies that convert data into intelligent information, enabling efficient planning and execution, precise machine controls, and workflows that optimise agricultural operations. The HxGN AgrOn platform, which includes AgrOn Cultivation, AgrOn Harvesting, and AgrOn OEM, helps Hexagon’s customers achieve digital transformation. In total, there are more than 35 products developed for cultivation, harvesting, and transport operations for end consumers, agricultural companies, and manufacturers.

The AgrOn Auto Steering will be one of the highlights at FIMA. Assisting the navigation of tractors, the product ensures good alignment, reducing overpass, optimising production and making better use of the planting area. As a result, there is better performance and higher productivity and profitability. Today, Hexagon is the supplier to large agricultural companies, especially in the grain, sugar-ethanol and forestry sectors. Among them, São Martinho , one of the largest sugarcane processing plants in the world.

Another focus of Hexagon at the fair will be AgrOn Sprayer Control, which performs automatic control of spray sections, minimising overlap in the application of inputs and avoiding over and under application of areas. This automation is capable of guaranteeing, according to a survey with farmers, a reduction of up to 25% in the use of pesticides in the field. In addition to the production benefit, these embedded technologies bring improvements to manufacturers, increasing the value of machinery and allowing even small manufacturers to adapt to digitised agriculture.
